Dad and I went to see the Annual Christmas Tree and Neapolitan Baroque Crèche at the Met in NYC. Basically it's an extended Nativity that includes not only the Magi and others arriving to see the birth but people just going about their daily lives. It's a lovely tradition and I was glad to get a chance to see it again.

This is one of the angels. Some were down by the Nativity but most were in the Christmas tree.

Sounds like a wonderful event and I'm glad you had a great time!

Also, that's a beautiful angel!

Thanks, it was nice. The tree is in the middle ages collection which has some excellent art. I particularly liked the statues. We wandered the museum after that, looking at a collection of more modern work. We took a bus back to Penn Station which drove us down 5th Avenue. I had no idea so many of those stores did holiday lights! ;-)

NYC is big on Thanksgiving/Christmas! Remember "Miracle on 34th Street" and "Home Alone" (2?)? You probably passed Rockefeller Center on your bus ride and maybe saw Macy's.

Very envious. To me NYC is the greatest city in the world! :)

I have been up there closer to Christmas but it was ages ago. We did check out the ice skaters, which I think is at Rockerfeller Center, and also the store windows. I think we did pass Macy's while on the bus. We also passed another store that had window displays - stuffed animals in winter scenes, but I don't know what store that was. If our feet hadn't been ouchie from the museum, we could have gotten off and walked the street.

It was really fun. I used to go to one it Pittsburgh too at the Carnegie museum. I really like the Neapolitan creches. ;-)
