I’ve made out a promisory note to a coding bootcamp. Today I got this message which sort of feels like a scam.

We are reaching out because we are still missing your ID. We are now required to collect a form of identification as part of the files for students using promissory notes/payment plans.
Please submit a copy or photo of your Driver's License / State ID

Does this seem legit?

They still try because people still fall for it.

I would be extremely surprised if that were the case, but in all instances, contract the entity directly using known communication methods and see. It could be them (at which point you give them an earful about requesting things they don't need) or it could be spam (at which point you trash the offending communication with prejudice).
