You know, I commented to an online friend that I feared I'd be losing my Social Security under Trump's White House and he replied that we should stop discussing the Trump Presidency because obviously I was delusional. (The I'm wrong or delusional part was implied, not stated straight out.)

Maybe he wants to stop discussing the Trump presidency because either he wants to pretend it doesn't exist, or that he's not one of the people about to get seriously hurt and so doesn't care so much. Plenty of those around.

I think he's more "doesn't believe people are going to suffer under Trump" even though hate crimes have already risen. He also doesn't believe in climate change and thinks those who do are deluding themselves and not open to looking at the facts.

"Belief" is all nice and well but people are beaten and people lose homes and people are already dead. So uh. Believing other people don't suffer while they suffer is a choice to ignore suffering... I'm not growling at you, you understand. Just the many people who say "it's different points of view" while other people bleed and cry.

Being conservative, he likely gets his news from sources that out-and-out lie (i.e. Fox) so I don't know how much of the suffering he's actually aware of. On the other hand, he didn't like my posting about it so maybe he is wanting to ignore it. ;-(

My response to his: And, yes, I get that Trump's saying they never met, but according to Snopes "Trump's claims to non-memory were widely considered to be disingenuous". And, you know what, that's what bullies do. You call them on their bad behavior, they lie and pretend it wasn't what it clearly was.
