Rude

I use my cell phone as an alarm clock. It's set for godawful early and doesn't have an option for me to pick days so it's set all the time. After yesterday's awfulness, I forgot to turn it off and left it in the living room. It not only woke my but also my roommate Kat. She glared and said "That was rude." before lumbering back to bed.

I looked on Merriam-Webster and their definition does not support this, bu I thought that rude meant something offensive that was done on purpose. If it wasn't deliberate, does that still count as rude?

Note: this comes out of feeling hurt by her comment. About 45 minutes after the wake-up call, I was lying in bed and heard Emma, Kat's dog, moving about. I got out of bed to walk Emma so that Kat, who has chronic pain, wouldn't have to. The rude comment came after we were back in the house. It sort of felt like a slap in the face since I'd just gotten back from walking her dog.

I dreamt that I was on a ship along with a Cthulhu cult. People were being converted / mind controlled so that they would sacrifice themselves to Cthulhu. I think the sacrifices were to allow Cthulhu to manifest in our world. I'm not sure why they had to be willing sacrifices, why people couldn't just be killed without being converted.

Thinking of the current politically induced violence, such as ignoring Puerto Rico and thereby allowing its citizens to die, I was reminded of ancient civilizations in South America (Mayan? Aztec?) where human sacrifice, in large numbers, was part of the political / religious system. And that led me to Whedon's Cabin in the Woods where sacrifices are used to keep demons asleep.

Aargh! and now I lost where I was going with this! ;-(

When Trump goes crazy attacking American rights, I keep coming back to comparing the situation to when Caligula ruled the Roman world. (I'm basing my comparisons to the BBC production of I, Claudius which I'm guesstimating is historically accurate.) Caligula did some whacked out shit! The one event that stands out is turning his palace into a brothel and forcing Senator's wives into prostitution. And yet people still couldn't act effectively to stop him.

And I wonder how far this administration will go before we can act effectively to stop them.

After driving all over creation looking at cars, my cell phone is missing. Grrr

Two auto accidents, one of which has me taking PT. A deliberately broken window in my car. Something else that I'm spacing now. Whoever the hell has cursed me can just lay off now!
