Why is Giles having his texts scanned?

In the eight episode -  i, robot ... you, jane - why is Giles having his texts scanned? Jenny makes some comment about an index and a database but Giles hasn't gone near it. Given how much of a Luddite Giles is, the database is obviously not for him. He has no interest in using it at all.

Well, I'm very slowly writing the Giles as the Big Bad fic, as in I'm still in the laying out what I want to happen phases and am about to lose all my free time for a month as I write 50,000 words on my original fic for NaNoWriMo, but yes I am still working on it. ;-)

I do adore my Frida icon. I have Frida earrings someplace although I rarely wear jewelry anymore. The earrings have hands dangling from them, not real ones obviously. ;-)

I know. Real hands would be much too heavy, dangling from ears. That's why only Kali gets to wear them and even than as a necklace!
