I was tagged by restfield over on my Tumblr account. Since I'm new there and have few connections, I'm tagging some people on Live Journal and others on Facebook.

1. If you have to live in a fictional universe of a book\movie\series etc. which one would you choose? At first I thought, none because often in fantasy and science fiction a good part of the conflict comes from a dangerous environment, but then I thought of the future in Woman at the Edge of Time (the book jumps between present and future) and I think that'd be a good universe to live in. Yes, there is a war and I can't say it doesn't impinge on anyone's life because one of the characters goes off to fight and dies, but as a place to grow-up and live it promotes creativity and is quite supportive.

2. Name a book, show or movie you like. If you have to remove one significant (and preferrably non-villain) character from it, which one would you choose? I would totally remove Angel from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He just bugs me.

3. What’s the most exotic thing you’ve ever eaten? I don't consider most of the food I've eaten exotic. I like octopus/squid because it has the suckers on and I think that's fun. Frog legs when I was a teen. Oooh, chocolate covered cicadas. We had a big cicada outbreak here some years ago and one of the guys at work, with friends, harvested cicadas and made a bunch of dishes actually but he brought the ones dunked in chocolate into work for us to try. His office-mate, originally from Nigeria, refused to try them until James egged him on saying, “Come on, man, you've eaten termites.”

4. What’s the last song that you wanted to listen on the repeat mode? Oooh, this one's easy. For the last week or so I've been listening to Leonard Cohen's Live in London album and repeating “Hallelujah” again and again and again.

5. Besides tumblr, are there any websites\social networks you frequent? Live Journal, Facebook, Archive of Our Own, and fanfiction.net.

I wouldn't want to remove Angel because that would mean losing Angelus.

And I would be perfectly fine with that. Jenny Calendar doesn't die so Giles might have a chance at a relationship. Of course if Angel wasn't in town, Jenny wouldn't be there so I guess that doesn't work.

I'd actually love to see well-written no-Angel AU, exploring how buffyverse would change without him. (So far all no-Angel fics I've seen were written just to replace bangel with spuffy, which I found quite boring.)

Right off the bat, Buffy staying dead at the end of season 1 because there's no one to lead Xander to the Master's lair. But, yeah, a no-Angel AU would be interesting.

Not necessarily dead. Without Angel Buffy won't overhear the prophecy (and no one would stop Giles from going into Master's lair... oops.)
Not knowing about prophecy Buffy could allow Xander and Willow to tag along. (Considering that without Angel Buffy's relationship with Scoobies would go a bit differently - imo, they would become even tighter group.)

Of course we could go back to the start of the season. Without Angel's warning about the Harvest, Giles might not have come up with the date of the ritual and the Master might have been unleashed on Sunnydale right off the bat. He could have been the big bad all the way through season 1. ;-)

I'm not sure if Angel's warning was that important, but having Master on the loose (with a bit different version of Darla as his right hand) would be much more fun than the canon S1.

Hmm, it's my impression that Buffy's mentioning the Harvest tells Giles what to research. But of course they always come through with the research in the nick of time so, yeah, maybe that wouldn't have made a difference.
