Hey there -- I'm doing that thing where I've found a new person with lots of relevant-to-my-interests post to scroll through. :)

I love this vid. It was made by my friend laurashapiro, and it looks like this Scot Alexander person uploaded it without her permission or crediting her. I think this person doesn't know what vids are and just wanted to upload the song. I don't know how Laura feels about that but I did let her know.

Laura hasn't put any of her vids on YT as far as I know, but she did post a streaming version here, which has embed options that hopefully work with DW. She also has a website with vid downloads.

I think she does know. Based on a comment there on youtube, Scott Alexander is a member of the band who wrote and performed the song. I remember that she had a comment someplace about a band member who adored this video that he told her he'd be thrilled to see her do more vids with their songs.

I do believe he should have credited her though. I think I could not get her dotsub site to play; not sure why but thanks for the link to the other site. I didn't have that before.

No, you should not feel silly at all! I honestly didn't realize until you'd brought it up that it wasn't Laura Shapiro who'd posted the vid to youtube. My analysis is a guesstimate but it seems plausible to me. Also, because you raised the issue, I updated my post to let people know who created the vid.
