Snowflake Challenge Day 6

In your own space, create a list of at least three fannish things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a fannish wish-list of sorts. Maybe you will grant a wish. If any wishes are granted, we'd love it if you link them to this post.

It's taken me a while to decide what I'd want. I'm not used to asking for things.

1. I'm totally cool with anyone creating off of my fanfic. In fact, I'm pretty sure my Transformative Works Policy says something like "You want to play with my story? Do you need me to encourage you? I can totally encourage you!" It's part of the creative process, being inspired by each other, and I also feel that it's an incredible compliment. I know some people don't want others creating fanworks based on their fanfic, but I don't understand it. I'd like an explanation of the other point of view. Why would someone not want others to play with their stories? 
2. Comments on my fanfic are always appreciated.
3. I'd love to see a fanfic about Kitty Fantastico. But no killing the cat. I want a happy story. I'm so less than thrilled with the idiot who decided that Dawn had accidentally shot him (her?) with a crossbow. You didn't have to fill that hole. The mystery of what had happened to Kitty Fantastico would have been perfectly OK with me.

I very much second the Miss Kitty Fantastico thing. Also that sent me to AO3 for a search and somehow the first result involving Miss Kitty Fantastico was a Bucky/Tony Stark fic.

edited to add: that Bucky/Tony doesn't seem to be about the original Kitty.

Why would someone kill off Miss Kitty Fantastico?

Canon suggests that Dawn accidentally did although, according to this Buffy wiki , there is an alternate interpretation: After "Family", Miss Kitty Fantastico is not mentioned again until the penultimate episode of Season Seven, "End of Days," when Dawn says “Xander, my crossbow is not out here. I told you, I don’t leave crossbows around all willy-nilly… Not since that time with Miss Kitty Fantastico.” This statement implies that the cat died because Dawn carelessly left a crossbow laying around, though one could also infer that Miss Kitty Fantastico walked across the weapon and nearly skewered someone in the house. Either way, the cat is not shown escaping Sunnydale in the series finale, and can confidently be pronounced dead, lost, or given away.

I posit that the second interpretation is the preferred, and Miss Kitty broke something valuable or perchance nearly killed a human. As a result, and also because of the general stress of the coming apocalypse, Willow and Tara gave her for adoption to a loving family in a faraway region with much less demon activity. Miss Kitty Fantastico lived to a respectable old age and died peacefully in her sleep surrounded by those who loved her and didn't think to have crossbows lying around the house. the end

For 01... I think that it's just that I would way rather collaborate with someone on an AU or continuation of one of my fics? I mean, granted, I haven't really had the opportunity, and I don't have any problem with people taking the premise of one of my stories and running off in another direction, but like... the idea of someone writing a fix-it for one of them because they didn't like the ending rubs me the wrong way.

Huh, I never thought of playing with someone's fic as fixing it although people do talk of fanfic as fixing canon so I can see that interpretation. That's a good interpretation though. It makes sense that people wouldn't want their fix remixed if that's how they look at it. Thanks.
