Okay, I've got a Watcher. Quentin's nephew. Probably about a decade younger than Giles. He wants information that's proprietary to the Council and is also something he's not supposed to be getting into. Men of the Taylor family have worked for Cecil's family, on Council business, for generations. Jeremy Taylor is working directly for the Council and has access to the information Cecil wants.
So, Cecil is going to ask him for the data, but Cecil, being an idiot, is going to have them meet someplace that 1) screams "I'm trying to be clandestine" and 2) is someplace he generally would't be seen since he considers Jeremy to be a social inferior. Oh, and it should be in or near London since I'm guesstimating that's where Council HQ is located.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Bride of Giles as the Big Bad
Aug. 22nd, 2014 10:39 pmSo now that I'm almost ready to post the prologue, I stop and realize that the Scoobies don't figure out that Giles is evil, which, okay, I still like the story I'm writing but ...
evil!Giles giving bad info to the Council
Buffy having no idea how to contact the Council and tell her that her Watcher is evil
I could have so much fun! But it's going to have to wait. I really need to get this first one posted.

the original Buffy move
Aug. 22nd, 2014 10:36 pmI just did a rewatch to get info for a couple of scenes of my Giles as the Big Bad story.
I vaguely recall first seeing this movie in the theater but don't recall whether I liked it or not. After I got into BtVS, the TV version, I did watch the movie again and hated it. This time I rather liked it. I thought quite a bit of it was funny. I particularly liked Pike's "You're floating. Go away." moment.

Wow. I was going through identifying people who have helped with my questions for my Giles as the Big Bad story and I realized that I've been working on this since October. Over 10 months. For something I thought I'd have done by Yule - last year's Yule - this is certainly taking a long time!
And it's about to get longer. I've singed up for the Circle of Friends remix. But my prologue should be posted before September.

cheapest drink in London?
Aug. 9th, 2014 12:11 pmBack just after Rupert's Ripper-days, if someone were drinking in a real dive in London, what would be the cheapest way to go. I want the drink to be alcoholic and something that could be nursed, like a beer. I'm thinking the equivalent of Pittsburgh's Tech Beer, which is the dregs of Iron City beer.
What my evil!Giles looks like *huge grin*
Aug. 3rd, 2014 06:43 pmpickamix made me an excellent evil!Giles image for my Giles as the Big Bad story, which is taking forever but I am working on. Anyway, check it out. It's perfect!
Okay,
I'm trying to work out when the first Scooby research party where they ordered in pizza happened. I've watched through "I Robot; You Jane" and haven't seen it yet. I'm wondering because for my Giles as the Big Bad story I'm making Giles hedonistic, one of the signs of which would be him not eating the pizza but ordering something for himself from one of the better local restaurants.
And while I'm on the subject, what other signs of Giles' hedonism can you think of? I've already got the idea of a killer car. He might dress slightly better but he also would feel the need to dress as well as the Council would expect him to so possibly not so much there. He's hitting on Jenny much more quickly. What else?
Thanks!

Needing input for a story
Apr. 18th, 2014 11:28 pmI have some things I'm trying to work out for my story and I could use feedback. BtVS, naturally.
During Never Kill a Boy on the First Date, in my verse Buffy and Rupert go to the funeral home before her date with Owen, meaning her date isn't interrupted and she doesn't break up with them. Possibly before or during I Robot; You Jane, Owen sees Buffy slaying and starts patrolling on his own but what would their relationship be like until then?
Evil!Giles introduces Willow to tantra, not directly because he doesn't want anything to get back to Buffy, but he manipulates Willow into "borrowing" some books. Part of what she reads involves violating boundaries and so I'm trying to work out what kinds of boundaries first season Willow would break. I'm thinking light and possibly humorous things like eating a ham sandwich and then folding up the wrapper really small before throwing the wrapper away so nobody will see it and guess what she's done. What other things might she do?

Start of Giles as Big Bad
Mar. 2nd, 2014 01:21 amI've posted the first scene over at Taming the Muse. I'd originally planned to start with the ritual to Eyghon but the requiem prompt got me thinking about Randall's funeral and I decided to try that out as my starting place. If you have an opinion on which would be a better starting point, please let me know.
The Sycthe
Oct. 26th, 2013 10:04 amI've been watching S7 - for the second time ever and the first time since 2009 - to get a better understanding of the Scythe arc and I just realized something. The First has the Scythe, doesn't he? Damn. That is so lame.
And by lame I mean: There's no interesting arc I can work for my story. Although tht does mean I can make up pretty much any backstory for how they find it that I want.

Giles as the Big Bad, Part II
Oct. 9th, 2013 02:32 pmAnd Gabrielle nailed it: You could use Eyghon. Perhaps Giles didn't actually break off his whole "demon possession" fun.
The idea is that Ripper, either because he was more prideful than the rest of the group or because he thought of it first, performed a ritual that made him Eyghon's priest. This opened a permanent connection between them. It was in this ritual that Randall (is that the name of the one who died back then?) died, which sent a shockwave through the group, breaking them up and sending Rupert back to the Council. However because of the connection, Eyghon has been able to influence and corrupt Rupert over the years. Rupert's plan, as he arrives at the Hellmouth and takes over as Buffy's Watcher, is to corrupt the Slayer line by calling Eyghon down into the Scythe. He could replace the First Slayer as the root of the Slayer power-base which would allow Eyghon to possess them as they are called.
However, since I only saw season 7 once and that was about four or five years back, I need some background on the Scythe. Would this plan work?
Edited: Oh, and the original idea for Giles as the Big Bad came from Red Satin Doll's meta post.
More edits: And another question. I'm thinking that Giles will be a corruptor. For example, he'll notice Willow's power and lead her toward dark magics very early on. But I'm not sure what he might do to corrupt Xander. Maybe I'll get some ideas as I'm watching the episodes but maybe not. He's going to want to keep Willow alive so he'll have access to her power. His motivation to keep Xander around will be that he will want to use Xander's death to weaken Buffy if she starts getting out of line (or what he would consider out of line). So, Xander there for that reason but while Xander is there, Rupert will certainly not resist doing something corrupting. I'm just not sure what.
